The Bridge Navigational Watch Alarm System (BNWAS) is designed for remote monitoring of the correct operation of the control room in the bridge and for detecting the possible disability of the officer on duty.
The BNWAS operation principle lies in the need for the officer on duty to respond to the signal given by the control system with the established frequency. In case of no response from the officer on duty, BNWAS gives an alarm.
Resolution MSC.282 (68) dated July 5, 2009, requires that all passenger ships, regardless of tonnage, and ships with gross tonnage of 150 tons and above built before July 1, 2011, must be equipped with a Bridge Navigational Watch Alarm System (BNWAS).
The BNWAS monitoring system by ServiceMarine monitors and records the shutdown of BNWAS by unscrupulous crew members or a breakdown of BNWAS from the console on the shore, which allows predicting the occurrence of an emergency and establishing the possible responsibility of the crew in case of its occurrence.
